The concepts around reality creation were some of the most difficult for me to transform from an understanding to a knowing. And when I say that I mean, that I understood the concepts but not to the point of actively practicing them on a daily basis. Your ego wants to argue about the ideas of reality creation because it feels as if the rug has been pulled out, the rules have changed on a dime, and it wants to know how it can ignore “reality”. The resistance your ego demonstrates can be attributed to societal beliefs that have told us that we are a victim of our circumstances and must accept our limitations. You can find evidence of these limiting belief systems within well-known, but tired adages, such as, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” or “you can’t have your cake and eat it too”. Ugh. Those sayings wreak of repetition and old paradigms. So when my ego heard me affirm wholeness when in the past I would be lamenting the lack, it says to me, “but you have to live in reality!!!!”.
In the past, my ego faithfully and loyally endured my insistence to wait for reality to define me instead of deciding how I wanted to be defined and creating that reality. Yes, I was someone who enjoyed banging my head against a brick wall! So when I first began to practice the concept of “what you put out is what you get back”, I had to negotiate with my ego about this new perspective. It’s your ego’s job to protect you. So when you flip the script like this, your ego needs to be reassured that you aren’t losing your mind and death isn’t imminent. Seriously. Your ego wants to explode when you first ask it to see beyond physical reality by finding a wholeness that is real and true in each and every situation. I will speak about ego negotiation in another post but that has been a really vital aspect of any transformation for me.
The purpose of THIS post is actually to make one point. The point is that after a few years of learning and practicing reality creation, I am more resolute than ever about the direct correlation between your choice of perspective and how that manifests in the physical world. Whatever you focus on all day and consistently truly shapes your reality. More specifically, if you focus on lack, brokenness, and not enough, that is what you will get. If you focus on wholeness and abundance, that is what you will get. Period. The end. I see it work that way time and time again in my life. It’s real. I am familiar with the underlying energetics, so of course it works, but it still astounds me for some reason. I guess that it just still seems magical to me because it’s so different from what I understood previously. So, for anyone that is interested in transforming some or all aspects of your life, please try this for yourself. The most challenging aspect is reassuring your ego. Otherwise, it’s like any other skill. Practice, practice, practice. But wow is it worth it.
No, you don’t need to live in reality. You need to decide what you want your reality to look like and then create it for yourself!
